The 2010 bi-annual Credit, Bond & Political Risk Conference in St Andrews represents the 13th occasion that we as a company have hosted the event, but the first time it fell under the Aon Benfield banner. This year, it continued the hugely successful format of the past 24 years, and as those who have joined us will testify, it is truly a conference for the industry, by the industry. As always, we strive to bring together the very best speakers and delegates to discuss the latest topics that affect our business. As an industry, we have faced unprecedented times in the past 18 months: sub-prime mortgage failures and failed derivative contracts; a global economic downturn and increased insolvencies; government top-up schemes and emerging market defaults. Given these numerous challenges, therewere certainly plenty of points of discussion at the 2010 conference, all pertinent to the Credit, Bond and Political Risk sector.
We secured an impressive panel of senior industry figures who participated in both formal presentations and open discussions, and offered their views on the future of our industry. In order to provide a holistic view of our financial sector, the speakers were selected from a broad spectrum of disciplines and markets, and included representatives from major re/insurance companies, policyholders, capital markets experts, and primary brokers.
The 2010 bi-annual Credit, Bond and Political Risk conference was, as promised, a lively and interactive conference that focused on the key topics affecting our industry in the short, medium and long term.
